About 30% weapons recovered by security forces since start of Manipur violence are more advanced than those available in state armouries, officials told The Indian Express. About 800 of the 2,600 recovered weapons weren't among the 6,000 looted from armouries, and include assault rifles like M16s, M18s and M4A1 Carbines. The state has recently also witnessed use of improvised rockets.
