The Supreme Court on Thursday slammed the ongoing 16-year-long trial in a 2009 acid attack case, calling it a "national shame". "What a mockery of the legal system!...If the national capital cannot handle this, then who will?" the apex court said. It also instructed all High Courts to provide details of similar pending cases across the country within four weeks.
