The Joint Parliamentary Committee examining the Waqf Amendment Bill approved the legislation with 14 changes to the draft Bill, the committee's Chairman, BJP MP Jagdambika Pal said on Monday. He said Opposition had suggested some amendments, adding that they were all put to vote but were defeated. He said detailed discussions were held over six months by committee members.
