Tension erupted after a Muharram procession was taken out without permission through Prayagraj's Sirsa market on July 3. The Police arrested 22 people after local shopkeepers and residents objected to the procession. Police have registered an FIR against 40 people, and search operations are ongoing to find and arrest the 18 other accused.
