Air India is lobbying the Indian government to persuade China to let it use a sensitive military airspace zone in Xinjiang to shorten routes, Reuters reported. The request comes weeks after India-China flights resumed following a five-year hiatus. Notably, the airline estimated the Pakistan airspace closure's impact on its profit before tax at $455 million (over ₹4,000 crore) annually.
