Some 'healthy' foods like raw sprouts and leafy greens can harm the gut, as per nutritionist Shalini Sudhakar. Sprouts often carry bacteria such as E. coli and Salmonella, while raw spinach’s high oxalate content makes it difficult to digest. When spinach is consumed raw, it combines with calcium, leading to kidney stones. She advised steaming sprouts and cooking greens well.
