Australia stand-in captain Steve Smith hinted he might wear eye blacks during the pink-ball Ashes Test. The eye blacks are small, black, adhesive strips worn on cheekbone. They are designed to reduce glare from floodlights by absorbing light that would otherwise reflect off the skin. Ex-West Indies batter Shivnarine Chanderpaul is the most prominent cricketer to have used them previously.
