About ₹5,500 crore was spent to clean the Yamuna river in Delhi in the last three financial years by the Delhi Jal Board, the central government informed the Rajya Sabha on Monday. This comes as the river remains polluted with toxic foams seen floating on its surface. Notably, ₹6,856 crore was spent between 2017 and 2022 to clean the river.
