The Tamil Nadu government has introduced two new Bills proposing several changes in punishments for crimes against women. The revised bill proposes increasing the minimum imprisonment term from 10 to 14 years for rape. Meanwhile, the jail term for stalking will be increased from three years to five years. Fine for harassment through electronic means increased to ₹1 lakh.
