Taliban's deputy Foreign Minister Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai has reportedly fled Afghanistan after publicly endorsing girls' education amid fears of arrest. Stanikzai had called on other leaders to open schools for girls and women in January. He said unequivocally that "there is no excuse for this - not now and not in the future...We are being unjust to 20 million people."
