As per police complaint filed by 42-year-old Bengaluru resident Jagadish C, he lost over ₹1.29 crore in online investment scam that began on dating app. He alleged that woman posing as 'Meghana Reddy' lured him with fake philanthropic project and convinced him to invest through a fraudulent website. After multiple transactions, communication ceased, and Jagadish realised he had been duped.
