Thailand's parliament has picked Anutin Charnvirakul, the 58-year-old leader of Bhumjaithai party, to be next Prime Minister. Charnvirakul, who has served as Thailand's Deputy PM, defeated Chaikasem Nitisiri of Pheu Thai party with backing from opposition People's Party. His appointment came after Paetongtarn Shinawatra was removed as Thailand's PM by Constitutional Court for an ethics violation.
