Israel’s security cabinet on Friday recommended approval of ceasefire deal that involves an exchange of hostages held by Hamas for Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails and a temporary pause in the 15-month-long conflict in Gaza. The ceasefire deal will go to full Cabinet of ministers for final sign-off. The deal was brokered by Egypt and Qatar, with backing of US.
