The festival of Karwa Chauth is expected to generate an estimated ₹22,000 crore in business across India this year, up from ₹15,000 crore in 2023, said traders' body CAIT. "There has been heavy shopping for items like clothes, jewellery, cosmetics, gift items, puja essentials," CAIT Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal said. Karwa Chauth celebrations will take place on October 20 (Sunday).
