A 70-year-old Indian man was fined $1,168 (over ₹98,000) for 'obscenity' in Malaysia over wearing clothes that reflected "support" for the LGBTQ community at a fundraiser for children suffering from cerebral palsy. Satyanarayana Prasad Papoli, a former lawyer, apologised and requested that the fine be reduced on grounds of his age. Same-sex relationships are criminalised in Malaysia.
