Young millennials are using the full limits of their credit cards and then defaulting on their repayments, according to a Times of India report citing Macquarie research analyst Suresh Ganapathy. This trend is resulting in the rise in non-performing assets in India, Ganapathy added. Notably, credit card dues surged to ₹2.7 lakh crore in June, as per TransUnion Cibil data.
