Researchers found Delhi homes have fungal spores 12 times and bacteria 10 times above WHO limits, making indoor air nearly as harmful as outdoor smog. The 2025 Frontiers in Public Health study reported that "about 28% of children under 12 and 25% of young adults aged 18 to 30 faced breathing difficulties". Women also experienced higher rates of skin irritation.
