A businessman named Sanjay Shyam Dasani, his wife Kanika Dasani and their maid Chhabi Chauhan died in a fire ignited by a lamp in the temple of their Kanpur home on Diwali. The fire reportedly spread rapidly due to the wooden interiors. They were unable to escape as the automatic door to the room got locked due to the heat.
