Pakistan is facing significant GDP loss due to corruption and could generate a 5-6.5% increase in its GDP over five years if it addresses corruption and deep-rooted governance failures, an IMF report said. Corruption recoveries totalling PKR 5.3 trillion from January 2023 and December 2024 represent only a fraction of the true cost to Pakistan's economy, the report added.
