The Eknath-Shinde-led Shiv Sena has stirred controversy by giving tickets to six members of Waman Mhatre's family for the Kulgaon Badlapur Municipal Council elections. Mhatre is Sena's chief for Badlapur and would contest along with others. An MLA from the BJP, Sena's ally at the state level, criticised the decision, saying, "They want to loot as much as they can."
