Credit card spending in India rose 23% YoY to ₹2.17 lakh crore in September 2025, reaching an all-time high for the first time since 2020, CareEdge Ratings reported. The surge was driven by festive offers from banks, rising consumer demand, and the impact of new GST rate reductions. Private banks dominated the credit card spending market with a 74.2% share.
