Amazon announced that it is investing more than $1 billion to raise employee pay and lower healthcare costs for US fulfilment and transportation employees. This would push up average total compensation to over $30/hour, including benefits. Further, the average pay would increase to over $23 per hour, and full-time employees will see pay increase by $1,600/year, on average, said Amazon.
