On the 79th Independence Day, PM Narendra Modi broke the record for the longest Independence Day speech. Speaking for 103 minutes, PM Modi went past the 98-minute address he had delivered last year. He first broke the record in 2015 with an 88-minute speech. In 1947, former PM Jawaharlal Nehru had delivered a speech of 72 minutes.
