BBC has apologised to US President Donald Trump for doctoring his 2021 Capitol speech, however, it rejected his demands for compensation. BBC said the edit gave "the mistaken impression that Trump had made a direct call for violent action", adding it would not show the 2024 programme again. Trump's lawyers have threatened to sue BBC for $1 billion in damages.
