Over 500 Indian nationals serving sentences in Nepalese prisons have absconded since the Gen Z protests in September. More than 13,000 inmates escaped across Nepal's jails during unrest, with at least 5,000 Nepali prisoners and 108 prisoners from other countries also missing. Authorities continue efforts to track and recapture the fugitives. At least 70 people were killed in the protests.
