Karnataka government has announced a 15% hike in bus fares operated by all four Road Transport Corporations (RTCs) in the state. "The hike will come into effect from January 5 raising the four RTCs' monthly revenue by ₹74.85 crore," Minister HK Patil told reporters. The hike will offset financial burden of state’s Shakti scheme that offers free rides to women.
