Excessive levels of alcohol consumption increase risk for 6 different types of cancer, according to 2024 Cancer Progress Report by American Association for Cancer Research. These include certain types of head and neck cancer, esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, breast, colorectal, liver and stomach cancers. The study said in US, 40% of all cancers are associated with modifiable risk factors.
