The US Department of Labour has launched at least 175 investigations into potential abuses of H-1B visa programme to ensure only necessary foreign workers are employed in US. In September, it also launched Project Firewall to ensure companies comply with visa rules. The move follows department video highlighting firms exploiting H-1B visas, noting India as the largest beneficiary of programme.
