The US has been the biggest beneficiary of China's global lending activities, according to a study by the research lab AidData. The report found that the US has received over $200 billion in Chinese loans across nearly 2,500 projects and activities. China's lending and grants totalled $2.2 trillion across 200 countries from 2000 to 2023, the study said.
