Following growing popularity, Pune Metro will add 15 new trains and 45 coaches to its fleet. The Union Cabinet has also approved Phase 2 of the Pune Metro Rail Project, with two elevated corridors spanning 12.75 km to be built at ₹3,626 crore. According to Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the project is scheduled for completion within four years.
