IAS officer Kannan Gopinathan, who resigned from service in 2019 as a mark of protest against abrogation of Article 370, has joined Congress. Gopinathan, who's from Kerala, is a 2012 Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territories (AGMUT)-cadre officer and his resignation hasn't been accepted yet. He also made headlines in 2018 for volunteering during Kerala floods.
