NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory has cut 550 jobs, about 11% of its workforce, in its fourth round of layoffs since early 2025. The layoffs as part of restructuring that began in July have shrunk JPL's team from around 6,500 to 4,500. The cuts spanning technical and support roles aim to streamline spending and prioritise key missions, the Caltech-run lab stated.
