As many as 25 'dhongi babas' (fake saints), including a Bangladeshi national, have been arrested by police in Uttarakhand so far under Operation Kalanemi launched by the state government. Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami directed police to initiate the operation to arrest those impersonating saints and allegedly cheating the public and "harming the image of Sanatana Dharma".
