Karnataka has decided to impose cess on every transaction on aggregator platforms, the state's Labour Minister Santosh Lad said. This will include platforms such as Zomato, Dunzo, Swiggy, Zepto and Ola, he added. The cess will be charged only on transport and not on items purchased by the consumers. The money will be used for the welfare of gig workers.
