Former JNU Students' Union leader Sharjeel Imam has approached a Delhi court seeking interim bail from October 15 to 29 to contest the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. Sharjeel, who is one of the accused in the 2020 Delhi riots case, reportedly wants to contest as an independent candidate from the Bahadurganj constituency. He was denied regular bail on September 2.
