Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has expressed concern over Amazon’s latest round of layoffs. "We are seeing the future, and it's deeply worrying," Tharoor added. Earlier, Amazon on Tuesday confirmed that it'll fire 14,000 employees due to technological transformations borne of AI, which are forcing the company to be "organised more leanly". Amazon said it may continue layoffs in 2026.
