Stanford University researchers have developed the first brain implant that decodes and vocalises inner speech in paralysed patients. The brain-computer interface (BCI) accurately deciphered up to 74% of imagined sentences by analysing neural patterns in motor cortex using AI. For privacy, researchers also introduced password system that activates decoding after users imagine a preset password.
