The newly implemented labour codes are expected to generate 77 lakh new jobs and boost consumption by ₹75,000 crore over the medium term, a report by SBI Research said. It also estimated that the codes could increase the share of formal workers in India by 15.1% to 75.5%. This could bring nearly 10 crore workers under social security benefits.
