Telugu filmmaker Trinadha Rao Nakkina was criticised for making a sexist remark on actress Anshu. During an event, he said, "She's thinner now, I asked her to...put on weight because it's not enough for Telugu (cinema), size needs to be bigger." The filmmaker later apologised for his remark, saying that he said it in jest, "hoping to make everyone laugh".
