The Election Commission of India (ECI) has advised political parties against the misuse of AI-based tools to create deepfakes before the Bihar Assembly elections. This is to prevent the spread of misinformation over social media platforms. Furthermore, ECI directed parties to label AI content, if any, with clear notations such as "AI-Generated", "Digitally Enhanced", or "Synthetic Content".
