India witnessed 13,21,745 cases of crime against women between 2021-2023, with Uttar Pradesh reporting the highest number of cases with 1,88,207 cases, the Union Government informed Rajya Sabha. There were 4,09,929 cases of cruelty by husband or relatives, 2,49,284 cases of kidnapping and abduction and 92,863 cases of rape during the period.
