A local embroidery worker in Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly who earns just ₹400 daily has received a ₹232 crore tax notice from the Delhi income tax department. In 2018, scammers lured the worker into handing over his Aadhaar and PAN cards with promises of a job in Dubai. They allegedly used his documents to create a company and perform numerous transactions.
