After South Africa posted 489 runs in first innings in Guwahati Test, India spinner Kuldeep Yadav commented on benign nature of the wicket, saying, "Kolkata's wicket was different and this was a whole road." He added, "It's challenging and that's why it's called a Test wicket." Kuldeep noted that bowlers did not get much assistance from the Guwahati wicket.
