The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has claimed Hamas has been defeated militarily in Gaza and is now operating as a guerrilla group. This comes after Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu told diplomats at the United Nations that "Hamas has got to go" as it could regroup and attack Israel otherwise. He also said Israel will have no role in Gaza's reconstruction.
