According to study by International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA), press freedom globally has suffered its sharpest fall in 50 years. The survey found that democracy has declined in 94 countries over the past 5 years, marking the broadest deterioration since the beginning of dataset measurement in 1975. Only one-third, out of 173 countries, have progress.
