UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres welcomed the agreement to have a ceasefire and hostage release in Gaza. Saying it represented path toward self-determination of Palestinians, Guterres said, "It's path towards ending occupation, recognising right to self-determination of Palestinian people, and achieving two-state solution." He added, "The UN stands ready to provide full support."
