An American man named Nicholas Rossi, who faked his own death and fled to Scotland to evade arrest, was sentenced on Monday to prison for raping his ex-girlfriend in 2008. The court described Rossi as "a serial abuser of women" before sentencing him. The survivor had told the court that Rossi had left a "trail of fear, pain and destruction".
