Varanasi Municipal Corporation has issued an order to shut all meat and fish shops within the civic body limits during the Navratri festival. The civic body Mayor Ashok Tiwari said the decision has been taken considering Kashi’s religious traditions and the sentiments of devotees. The decision was unanimously approved in the corporation’s executive meeting on Thursday.
