People are receiving fake appointment letters for the post of customer service representative under "Excise Department Employment Scheme". The letters demand a registration fee of ₹1,390 before the appointment. The fact-checking unit of government, PIB Fact Check, took to X and clarified that such appointment letters are "fake". "No such scheme is being run by the government," it added.
