The government could announce ₹14-15 lakh crore market borrowings through bonds in the Union Budget 2025, Moneycontrol reported citing economists and treasury heads. In FY25, the government's gross market borrowing is projected to be ₹14.13 lakh crore. The government borrowed around ₹7 lakh crore in the first half of the current financial year.
